As with the rest of the country, New Jersey has a significant number of residents who are battling addiction. The state is struggling with the opioid epidemic along with readily available heroin and meth.
Drug addiction has an adverse effect on your health, your life, and your family. The good news is that drug addiction can be treated, but it takes time and appropriate care. Clients must be motivated and have a dedicated team to help them get sober and stay sober.
Garden State Treatment Center, located in the heart of New Jersey, provides high-quality care that treats the entire person, not just the addiction. We want clients to have an authentic and meaningful treatment experience so that they can rebuild their lives. Each client is treated as an individual, and the team develops a treatment plan based on the client’s unique needs. Patients are part of the process every step of the way.

Programs
Garden State Treatment Center offers a variety of drug rehabilitation programs to help clients overcome their struggle with addiction and move forward with their lives.
Outpatient Program
With Garden State’s outpatient program, clients continue living at home while coming into the facility 3-4 times each week for individual and group therapies. Clients often attend family therapy sessions as well. Once treatment is finished, we connect clients with resources to help them stay on track.
Intensive Outpatient Program
Our intensive outpatient program is for clients who need more robust treatment. These clients have often tried treatment before and have relapsed. This program often works well for clients who aren’t able to attend inpatient programs but still need an elevated level of care. You’ll receive many of the same treatments as an outpatient but may also have access to certain medications and additional types of care.
Partial Care Program
Our partial care program is another program that many of our clients find beneficial. This program usually happens right after a detox program so that the client can learn to live without an addictive substance.
Partial care allows clients to continue living in their New Jersey homes while our various treatments, including individual and group therapies, help them learn to cope with the outside world in a safe space.
Drug Addiction Treatment
There are many reasons a person may fall into drug addiction, and the choice to seek help in recovery is not an easy one to make. Finding a facility that you trust with your treatment and your privacy is a challenge.
At Garden State, we are committed to helping you discover exactly why you exhibit negative behaviors and will work with you to develop the treatment you need to regain your life. Our goal is to create a comfortable and safe space for you to explore. We’re also committed to your privacy so you can focus on your recovery.
Medication-Assisted Treatment
There is a time when natural rehabilitation methods aren’t enough. Some clients need medication in order to get clean before they can begin to think about the next steps of their recovery.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) helps our clients deal with withdrawal symptoms and gradually ease off their medication. Other medications prevent the “high” that addicts typically get when using a drug. We use a combination of medication and behavioral therapies in order to get our clients sober and then maintain their sobriety.
Co-occurring Disorders and Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Many addicts don’t suffer from substance abuse problems alone. They often suffer from other mental disorders as well. Instead of seeking professional help, they use drugs to mitigate the symptoms of their mental disorder. They become addicted, and in some cases, the drugs just wind up exacerbating the disorder.
At Garden State, we help our clients overcome their drug abuse while also helping them cope with their mental disorders. We work with clients to develop healthy, sustainable treatments that’ll serve them better than illegal drugs. We use a combination of therapy and medications to treat the disorder and stop the addiction.
Alumni Program
Garden State Treatment Center understands that recovery is a process and must be maintained. Our alumni program allows past clients to continue meeting with one another to receive support and guidance.
Therapies
At Garden State, we offer a variety of science-backed therapies to meet the needs of all of our clients. We use a combination of treatments with each client to create a plan of care that fits their unique situation and helps them move past their disease.
Individual Addiction Counseling
Individual counseling is one of the most effective methods used in drug rehabilitation. Many of our clients developed their addiction problems after trauma. Individual sessions with one of our trained addiction counselors can help you uncover some of the underlying causes of your addiction and work through the trauma. Our New Jersey addiction counselors will always treat you with compassion and respect.
Group Therapy
Group therapy can be a powerful therapy for those suffering from drug addiction. Many addicts feel like they’re alone in their struggle, but group therapy can put them in contact with others who’ve had similar experiences and can sympathize in a way others cannot.
Group therapy can provide a source of comfort and support for addicts who are working on getting sober. Group therapy sessions are part of all our programs and are led by certified counselors to make sure everyone is getting the most from experience.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Most addicts struggle with negative thoughts that can lead to negative behaviors and bad decisions. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a scientifically-proven method to help a person change their thoughts, and as a result, their actions.
CBT goes beyond talk therapy, in which the client and therapist discuss and analyze the client’s behaviors and emotions. At our New Jersey treatment center, therapists work closely with clients to figure out the causes, thoughts, and triggers behind destructive behaviors. They then tailor a CBT plan to help the patient move past these triggers, achieve sobriety and avoid relapse.
12 Step Addiction Treatment
Garden State Treatment Center offers 12 step addiction treatment in New Jersey. Our program helps our clients progress through their steps with the goal of achieving and maintaining sobriety. While the program was initially developed for alcoholics, it has proven effective with drug rehabilitation as well.
During our 12 step program, our clients begin by admitting their shortcomings, working to overcome their addiction, and then helping others to do the same. Group therapy plays a large role in our 12 step program, allowing our clients to connect with one another and help each other through the process.
Relapse Prevention Treatment
Preventing relapse is an important part of recovery, even as important as achieving sobriety. Our New Jersey drug rehabilitation program doesn’t set our clients out on their own once they’ve achieved sobriety. We understand that sobriety is a daily practice and that it requires maintenance in order to be successful.
Just as we tailor our treatment plans to our clients, we also develop a relapse plan that takes the client’s unique needs and triggers in mind. We work with you to help you maintain your sobriety. Relapse with drug addiction can be particularly dangerous, especially if the person has been sober for some time. They may no longer have the same tolerance, and overdose can occur. As such, we take relapse prevention as seriously as any other step in our process.
Adventure Therapy
Physical activity is often a great outlet for those dealing with addiction. At Garden State, we offer adventure therapy to help our clients connect with their bodies, with others, and with the physical world.
Participating in thrilling activities like kayaking or climbing a ropes course has been proven to help those who are battling with addiction. These experiences can be done with a group of peers or even as a family. When working as a family, adventure therapy can help rebuild strained relationships.
Garden State offers hiking, kayaking, and ropes courses to help our clients find new levels of happiness and confidence.
